    Bro I thought FY was one of the most evil fictional character but recently I have picked up Blood Merdian and the villain from it, Judge Hordon make characters like Griffith,Joker and even FY look like a saint and I am not exaggerating. This is one of the most vile but great novels I have read.

      No FY is not an evil character .He doesn't kill people unnecessarily .He is only a goal focused MC who doesn't care about anything else. He can became the most virtuous character ever if he can fulfill his goal by doing so. Similarly , he can become the most evil as well. That's what i like about him. Gu world required him to become a evil person and that's why he did evil things .But as you know , he never displayed pleasure by killing people because he didn't care. As Fang Yuan says "only eternal life is goal".

    Without spoilers can someone tell me what is purpose is. Like why is he so driven to progress. What is his end goal. Cause its not clear and that really hurts the novel for me.

      what? His end goal couldn't have been more clearer ever since chapter 1. He's basically set on reaching eternity, true immortality, and he will do absolutely anything to achieve it. this goal is the only thing that drives him and is literally the only thing that he has his eyes on. he doesn't care about anything else.

        Yeah I figured that out after he told himself his own goals again. I went a couple months without reading the novel to so I just forgot a lot of it

      Immortality, eternal life. He lived for 500 yrs and realized everything is meaningless after experiencing it once. Wealth, women etc. He said he lived in his old world where immortality was out of reach, so everyone settled for what they could achieve with their short lives(wealth and power), and now that he got reincarnated to this world where achieving immortality is not a fantasy, not seeking it would be stupidity. Wether he’ll achieve it or not, he doesn’t know, but at least he won’t die with regrets if he gives it his all, cus there’s nothing else what pursuing.

    im at chap 1400 should i keep reading? it doesn't feel all that exciting. he inherited shadow sect and he has too many gus and techniques now. i remember in early chapters author would explain all the different GUs and techniques but it's not like that anymore. I don't understand MC's strength too many techniques very all over the place but his methods aren't actually that strong. Also he seems to keep getting f*ck*d over idk.

      Congratulations my friend you just arrived at the most boring volume of this novel so my suggestion to you Is that take a short break and then continue, because In my first time this volume was the most boring one But about continuing to read this ... I assume that you read till here because this novel is good and you know that And I promise you that it is just gonna became better and better And about that another question... I think you can understand that In just another few chapters So continue to read this masterpiece my friend Because I guarantee you that you won't regret it

    It's kinda crazy how in spite of the fact that this novel hasn't updated in years, I'm fairly sure I've only seen it drop from the top 10 once or twice (if ever) and right now it's even rank 2. Goes to show just how peak it is though ig 😤🙏
